Welcome to the Swineshead History Website
Welcome to the Swineshead History Website - a joint enterprise between Sovereign Ancestry, local historians and residents.
Lying seven miles south-west of Boston and approximately twelve miles north of Spalding, Swineshead is a linear village which stretches from North End, through Tarry Hill, the village centre, along South Street towards Drayton and High Green. It includes Swineshead Fenhouses, which were once known as Wigtoft Fenhouses until the boundary changes many years ago, and Baythorpe to the east and Swineshead Bridge to the north.
Our intent is that this website should comprise as much information regarding the history of the village and it's residents as possible. It is hoped it will become a virtual archive for the family historian or anyone interested in the village history and will be an ongoing project for many years to come.
Any offerings of items for display on the website will be gratefully received.
Swineshead is a very old village with a lot of history and we hope that everyone who visits this website will find much to interest them.
